'Marra'
coming late fall

Marra is a short animated film currently in development by director Scott Baucan and designer Sarah Rudy. Set in a richly stylized world reminiscent of 1990s animation—think hand-drawn textures, moody color palettes, and emotionally expressive characters—the film blends nostalgic visual storytelling with a deeply modern heart.

Featuring original and unreleased music from indie artists Hello June and Jess Weary, Marra explores the inner landscape of its central character as they navigate the complexities of mental health, trauma, and healing.

With its dreamlike tone and honest emotional arc, the film serves as both a love letter to resilience and a meditation on how we carry ourselves through darkness. Baucan’s visual direction, paired with Hello June's hauntingly beautiful soundtrack creates a layered, immersive experience that aims to resonate across generations.

Scott Baucan is a freelance comic artist who actively participates in the East Coast comic con and horror con circuit. Two years ago, he attained certification in Toon Boom, and presently, he leverages his expertise in this software for PC games and music videos. Scott has a diverse background in independent filmmaking, encompassing screenplay writing, prop creation, and costume design. Abstract painting is his favorite form of art, and he sells his works in shows and galleries. In the interim between projects, Scott has been diligently crafting his own webtoons comic. Follow Scott on WebToons to keep up with his current works. I was lucky enough to meet Scott while we were both working our tails off in a restaurant in Morgantown, West Virginia. My time there was short, so I consider this meeting a real win.

"Sometimes"
by hello june

"Sometimes" is a story about a character who falls in love with lightning bugs. Not considering the consequence of trapping them, the character deals with grief when one of his beloved bugs falls ill. Realizing that he can love the insects from afar and let them flourish, the character is able to let go of the idea of caging the insects and is then able to spend time with them in their beautiful natural habitat. "Sometimes" is off the 'Artifacts' Hello June record

For the "I Never Knew" video - Ron and team wanted to keep the visuals light, and fun. The story goes through some peaks and valleys as Ron finds and leaves love, but make sure you watch until the end to see the happy ending! "I Never Knew" is off the 'Dance Till the Music Stops' Ron Sowell record.

Brittany came to us with an idea for "Ghost" that would pay respect, honor, and love to her grandfather. She and her grandfather were very close, sharing a mutual love for music. Brittany wanted to convey her love through this video. She still wears the purple flannel that her grandfather gifted her and she is still moved by music - he would be proud of her for following her music. This single was done in her name, but she now has a heavy rock band called Majora who is winning of the hearts of folks in the underground Nashville scene.
